Island Veterinary Care (formerly Maine Mobile Veterinary Services) provides at home medical care and services for pets in Hancock county. Karen Pooler, D.V.M. offers non-emergency house call services for small animals including dogs and cats. At this time, Dr. Pooler is not accepting new clients, except for hospice care or end of life services for pets in Hancock county.
House call visits allow for extra time with clients and patients, vs. an office visit, providing a more personal way to manage your pets' well-being and health needs. Examinations and treatment are done in the comfort of home, eliminating the stress of a trip to the vet.
About Dr. Pooler
Karen is a Maine native. After graduating from Bangor High School, she attended Boston University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences, then taught marine science in programs at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, and Catalina Island Marine Institute in California.
Her love of animals brought her back to the classroom as a student. Karen graduated from Kansas State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, and quickly returned to her beloved Maine where she has practiced veterinary medicine ever since. Her home has always welcomed a variety of animals, and currently includes two senior dogs, a sweet bunny, and a very precocious cat.
